Meet the producer
Ségur Estates is a holding founded by a descendant of Nicolas Alexandre, Marquis de Ségur, “Prince des Vignes” to Louis XV and original owner of Latour and Lafite, who started a wine project in Portugal in the Alentejo, the Douro and the Tejo. Chão de Xisto is born at Redondo Winery, on the southern slope of the Serra d’Ossa, a winery created in 1989 as Roquevale, which the Ségur family joined in 2017; the soils are red schist and the winemaking is by Joana Roque do Vale.
